Chris Morris

Chris Morris has managed Local Energy Scotland since summer 2013 and is responsible for the delivery of the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES). Chris is consulted on strategy and development for community energy, sits on the Renewables Industry Advisory Group (RIAG) and regularly speaks at and chairs conferences with a community energy focus.

Prior to managing Local Energy Scotland, Chris set up and ran an energy advice service at Changeworks managing a team of 50 staff. From 2006 – 2008 he managed the Energy Saving Trust’s renewables programmes in Scotland, which included the Scottish Community and Householder Renewable Initiative and a pilot testing microgeneration heating systems as a tool to tackle fuel poverty. Chris has a background working in the voluntary sector, has a degree in Environmental Management and lives with his family in Edinburgh.
